老雅在多年雅思写作教学中，发现我们中国学生有一个非常严重的问题，就是拿到题目后不知道从哪个方向入手思考，也不知道些什么，于是乱写一气，结果是逻辑混乱，甚至文不对题。一个来自学生的相当经典的问题是这样的：
老师你好，我是xx大学的学生，我发现自己在写雅思作文的时候，没有办法做到深入思考和在论点之间建立合理的逻辑关系，请问有什么方法可以解决这两个问题呢?有什么平时可以做的训练吗?
无法深入思考，无法在论点之间建立逻辑联系。这两个问题，你有木有?是不是困扰了你很多年?是不是让你写好这个作文，却不知道下个作文能不能写好?
症结是：你没有建立很好的思维模型，你没有掌握合理的思维方式!很多老师(包括很多所谓雅思名师)告诉你：不知道怎么写?多看报纸就知道了!毫无疑问，读报刊有利于丰富自己的思想，但若读报纸却没有读出报刊文章的逻辑，你读再多，也难以让你自己的逻辑通顺起来，更难让你的写作变得流畅自如!近年来兴起的机器批改作文，也只能检查一下你的语法，但无法帮助你的逻辑。
怎么办?其实，很简单。老雅已经在多种场合，多种讲座，各种文章中提出了自己独创的“雅思写作三层次理论”，现在，老雅想集中详细阐述一下这个理论，让各位烤鸭看得更清楚，更完整。其实，这个理论不只对烤鸭有用，六级写作、考研写作、托福写作、SAT写作、GRE写作，但凡需要一定水平的写作，这个理论都完全适用。
1. 什么是“三大层次”理论?
所谓“三大层次”，指的是我们对任何一个话题，都可以从三个层次进行思考和讨论。这三个层次包括：物质(physical)层次、心理(psychological)层次、社会(societal) 层次。其中：
物质层次指的是与我们的身体、时间、空间、金钱/成本等相关的层次，这是一种比较浅显的层次。比如看电视，从物质层次上来讲，坏处就是浪费我们的时间、电费(金钱)，还可能伤害我们的眼睛(身体)，但它的好处就是让我们了解各种信息等。
心理层次指的是与我们心理、情感、精神等相关的层次，这是一种涉及到我们感情和思想的层次，比物质层次要深入一些。比如看电视，从心理层次上讲，坏处就是让我们养成被动接受信息不再自己思考的习惯，好处就是能陪伴我们度过空虚的时光等。
社会层次指的是与我们的环境、社会、文化、道德等相关的层次，这个层次相当于脱离了与我们个人的关联，而进入到更宏大的社会之中，因此比心理层次显得更高。比如看电视，从社会层次上讲，坏处可能包括暴力节目引发犯罪、虚假广告可能误导消费者等，好处就是购买电视有利于促进国家的经济发展等。
2.“三大层次”理论应用实例
实例1

【好处】(1)外星人科技发达，可以学习他们的科技，让地球人生活得更快乐(物质层面);(2)和外星人联系后，我们在这个宇宙就不再孤独(心理层面);(3)地球必将毁灭，联系外星人将为地球人找到新的栖息地(社会层面)。
【坏处】(1)联系外星人，需要投入巨大的人力物力(物质层面);(2)联系外星人，可能是一件非常危险的事情(社会层面)。
【我的观点】我认为应该努力与外星人沟通。首先，外星人若不及我们地球文明，那他们不会对我们构成威胁，如果外星人比我们的文明更先进，那么他们来破坏地球的可能性就更低，因此所谓威胁论或危险论其实不存在;而与外星人沟通会让我们找到其他星球的朋友，我们可以向他们学习，在地球终点到来之前，外星人甚至可能挽救我们。
实例2
In some countries, the criminal trials are shown on the TV and the general public can watch them. Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?
【好处】(1)看电视审判犯人，我们可以学到很多关于法律的知识(物质层面);(2)电视审判犯人，可以让观众内心感到害怕，从而不敢犯罪(心理层面);(3)电视审判，关注面大，从而使审判显得更加公正(社会层面)。
【坏处】(1)电视审判犯人，必定将犯罪细节公之于众，这在某种程度上是在宣传暴力(物质层面);(2)因为知道要电视播放，法官和律师的注意力往往从案件审理转移到电视作秀，不利于法律的正常实施(心理层面和社会层面)。
【我的观点】作为公民，我们有权利知道犯人是如何得到审判的'，因此我赞同电视审判犯人，但是电视审判中也要注意控制那些不宜播放的犯罪细节，并降低电视媒介对审判过程的不良影响。

【物质层次】衣食住行。过去不需要大型超市，现在需要;过去不需要宽阔的街道，现在需要;过去不需要地铁和机场，现在需要。这些属于物质层次的范畴。
【心理层次】休闲娱乐。过去不需要高级电影院，现在需要;过去不需要公共图书馆/博物馆，现在需要;过去不需要大型广场，现在需要。这些属于心理层次的范畴。
【社会层次】环境与社会。过去不需要区分居住区、工业区和商业区，现在需要;过去(也许)不需要城市中心花园，现在需要;过去不需要废品回收站，现在需要。这些属于社会层次的范畴。
3. “三大层次”理论使用的四大锦囊
老雅提出的“三大层次”理论可以帮助同学们迅速想出要写的内容，在一寸光阴一寸金的考场，能为你节约很多很多时间。但是，在具体操作过程中，老雅认为同学们还应注意几点：
(1)一般的顺序是由低到高层次写作，这样可以确保内容的逻辑性。也就是说，先写物质层次，然后心理层次，最后社会层次。
(2)不同话题，可能需要考虑不同层次的详略。比如，某些话题可能在物质层次上多写，在社会层次略写;另外的话题可能考虑社会层次更多，物质层次一带而过。这些都需要在写作计划的时候考虑清楚。
(3)究竟写到哪个层次，或者在哪个层次多用力，还取决于你的英语水平高低。如果你对自己的英语水平比较自信，那就尽量考虑写完三个层次，而且在社会层次上也不露怯;但如果你的英语水平还不够好，那就尽量在物质层次上多找几个点写下去，然后适当写点心理层次的内容，社会层次就不要去写，否则错误就多，得分就低。老雅的具体建议是：争取5分的同学，只写物质层面，内容简单，语言错误也有望减少很多;争取6分的同学，主要写物质层面，适当简写心理层面;争取7分或以上的同学，物质层面一笔带过，以心理层面和社会层面为主 。
(4)老雅多年教学经验告诉我，很多学生一拿到题目，首先想到的就是心理和社会层次的内容，结果很难逻辑地写下去。老雅的建议是，拿到任何题目，首先就想物质层次，即使你想在心理和社会层次上用力，你也需要先简要论述物质层次，然后以此为跳板，过度到另外两个层次去，这样的写作才会显得自然，获得高分。
